Election will impact direction & security

Direction & Security of community, state and nation will be impacted Nov. 4th

America at a Crossroads
Election to determine direction of country

On Tuesday, November 4th our community will once again get the opportunity to elect our government. It is a citizen’s privilege and responsibility. Every vote is important - especially in elections these days where the very principles, direction and security of our community, state and nation are to be decided. Since it is so important, how do we decide who to vote for? Glad you asked…

In our republic an election says as much about us, as it does about those we elect. The values, principles and character of those we elect will affect the life, liberty and security of each of us individually, our children and our community for decades to come. Since this is the reality, we had better elect people with a real practical respect for the founding principles of these United States; principles based upon the authority of the Creator God; Principles of Life, Family, Law, Liberty and Property.

By these principles we know that life is a gift of God; that all mankind – having been created in the image of God - has value, and that life should never be taken by the will of man except one forfeit his life by the willful taking of another human life. We know then that a baby conceived, as well as the aged and disabled among us are valuable and worthy to be protected. Abortion and euthanasia defy these principles. So how could we entrust someone to protect our lives in law, when they do not protect those weakest among us?

By these principles we know that marriage is the first institution of God, even before civil government or the church, and that it was created as a lifelong union between a man and a woman. Homosexual marriage or “civil unions” are against these principles. So, if they will not define sex and marriage as God defines it – what is the limit to which they will undermine marriage, the family and sex – bigamy?, polygamy?, to children?, to animals?

By these principles we know that God has given government the responsibility to judge law breakers and secure its citizens. Illegal immigration, lowering standards for citizenship and voting, unjustly pardoning and circumventing justice undermines these principles. Can we trust them to uphold any law if they will not uphold the ones that define the very right and responsibility of an American citizen, and seek release of those that have harmed our families and communities?

By these principles we know that God gives property and means into the hands of individuals, not nations or governments. It is the duty of government to protect the responsible freedom of individuals to manage their property and means for the benefit of their families, churches, businesses, employees and communities. High taxes, taking of property and big government regulation thwart this principle. So, if they believe your property and means are at the discretion of government – whose property is it then really? What would be the limit on the taking but opportunity and will?

We can get a good idea if a candidate will promote these principles of good government in the actions they will take and appointments they will make by taking a hard look at their personal character and position statements, their public conduct and votes, their party platform, and the principles of those who endorse or financially support them. Upon serious consideration we will find that there are no “perfect” candidates, but when judged by these principles some will begin to stand out in stark contrast.

The resources are available as never before through this community and the internet. Take the time and responsibility to vote for the candidate that best represents and promotes the principles of good government - for your sake, that of your family and community. If you hold to these foundation principles for the freedom and security of us all - you will not sit out November 4th  – you will pray for the election and the candidates, you will talk about the issues with friends and neighbors, you will vote and encourage all your neighbors to vote with you. VOTE ON PRINCIPLE – It’s the privilege and responsibility of American Citizens.
